On this day in 1967, Jack Greene’s “There Goes My Everything” was named the first CMA Song of the Year. The album spent seven weeks on top of the Country Music chart, and spent a total of twenty-one weeks on the chart.

Along with winning CMA Song of the Year, the song helped give Greene the Album of the Year and the “Male Vocalist of the Year” awards.
