On this day in 1998, Shania Twain nailed down the #1 position on the Billboard US Country Songs chart with “You’re Still The One”. The song was released as the third single from Twain’s album Come on Over. The song peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hott 100 and is recognized as Twain’s most successful crossover hit.

“You’re Still the One” was nominated for four Grammy Awards in 1999, winning two. It won Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance and lost Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

The song was Certified 2× Platinum by the RIAA.
