On this day in 1987, George Strait received a Gold Record for his album Ocean Front Property. The record was Strait’s seventh studio album, and produced three #1 hits including, “All My Ex’s Live In Texas”, “Am I Blue”, and the title track.

The album has since been Certified 2× Multi-Platinum by the RIAA. It is the first album to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart
