There’s been plenty of talk about rising demand at food banks across Iowa. Joan Kunz, a volunteer at the Mahaska Food Cupboard in Oskaloosa, talks about the situation at this food bank.
“It increased last week. Before that it was a little slow, maybe people were doing social distancing. But it has picked up, so we’re quite busy.”
The Mahaska Food Cupboard is open Monday from 4:30 to 6:30pm, and Wednesday and Friday from 10am until noon. Kunz says they have plenty of volunteers right now, but food donations are always welcome.
