The Oskaloosa Indians on Friday night played their first game since their homecoming contest vs. Washington was canceled and were shut out by the Newton Cardinals at home, 49-0.

The Cardinals were dominant from the opening whistle until the end of the game. A running clock was forced with 8:31 remaining in the 2nd quarter when FB Qhjuan Coley of Newton scored a rushing touchdown to make the score 35-0. RB Isaiah Hansen, an Iowa State commit, was the star for the Cardinals, running the ball 7 times for 107 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Indians’ offense saw 13 of their plays result in negative yardage, and they committed 3 turnovers while being held to 140 total yards.

Oskaloosa (0-5) will travel to Grinnell on Friday night in search of their first win of the 2026 season.
