GOVERNOR INTRODUCES TEST IOWA TO DEAL WITH CORONAVIRUS

Governor introduces Test Iowa to deal with coronavirus

At Tuesday morning’s (4/21) press conference, Governor Kim Reynolds announced a new initiative to fight coronavirus called TestIowa.com.

“This is a public/private partnership between the State of Iowa, Nomi Health and the Silicon Slopes Initiative.  This will make available 540,000 COVID tests to increase the state’s testing capacity by up to 3000 additional tests per day.  And that’s in addition to what we are already doing.  And it will also help us gather critical information from Iowans that will help our health officials better target and fight the virus.”

Reynolds says Iowa joins Utah as the only states that are using this program.  It features an online assessment and drive-through testing.  She goes on to say that COVID-19 tests will be set up at a long term care facility in Tama.  Over 220 coronavirus cases have been reported in Tama County with five elderly people dying from the virus.

You can hear Governor Reynolds’ daily news conference live at 11 every weekday morning on the No Coast Network.
