FREEZE WATCH ISSUED FOR FRIDAY NIGHT & SATURDAY MORNING

Freeze Watch issued for Friday night & Saturday morning

Fall is the season and fall is what the temperature is going to do.  A Freeze Watch has been issued for most of Iowa for Friday evening (10/11) through Saturday morning (10/12).  Meteorologist Alex Krull with the National Weather Service tells us how cold it’s going to get.

“We’re expecting cold temperatures to move in as well as gusty winds,” Krull says. “Winds could be between 35 and 40 miles per hour, especially as we move from Friday into Saturday. That will be sending our wind chill temperatures down into the mid-teens and lower 20s for portions of southern Iowa.”

Frost and cold temperatures could kill crops and sensitive vegetation, as well as damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.  Again, this Freeze Watch goes into effect Friday evening through Saturday morning. Keep tuned to the No Coast Network for the latest updates.
