Driver killed in wrong way crash on 163

He drove the wrong way on Highway 163 and crashed into a house.  A man from Fresno, California was killed early Saturday morning (5/30) in that accident.  The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office got a call around 5:10am Saturday about a vehicle going west in the eastbound lane of Highway 163 between Oskaloosa and Pella.  Marion County law enforcement got the same call a short time later.  A Marion County Deputy found the vehicle and made a traffic stop near Otley.  But when the deputy left his vehicle, the other vehicle took off, going east at a high rate of speed.  Near the intersection of Highway 163 and Eaton Avenue, the vehicle lost control.  It rolled several times, hit a building and the driver was ejected.  46-year-old Koua Yang of Fresno, California was pronounced dead at the scene.
