Coronavirus update

Three more Iowans have died from the coronavirus.  According to Monday’s (4/6) information from the Iowa Department of Public Health, two elderly adults from Tama County have died and one from Linn County has died.  Iowa’s death total from coronavirus is now 25.

Marion County has its first confirmed case of coronavirus.  It’s an older adult between the ages of 61 and 80. There has also been a second diagnosed case of COVID-19 in Wapello County.  The Wapello County Health Department says this is someone between the ages of 18 and 40.  And there was a second confirmed case of coronavirus in Keokuk County over the weekend.

Two additional outbreaks have been identified at a nursing home in Washington County and a nursing home in Tama County.

As of Monday, 78 new cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed, bringing the statewide total to 946. 99 people are currently hospitalized with the virus, with 284 having recovered.  Also, another 680 Iowans have tested negative for COVID-19 with a total of 10,653 in Iowa who have tested negative since the pandemic began last month.
