A man from rural Knoxville who is accused of murdering his mother wants the case dismissed—days before his trial is scheduled to start.  Jason Carter is accused of killing Shirley Carter in June 2015. He has already been found liable for her death in civil court.  Jason Carter’s attorneys were in Marion County Court Thursday (2/28) asking that the case be dismissed.  Jason Carter is scheduled to go on trial Monday (3/4) in Council Bluffs; the trial was moved there because of pretrial publicity.
