October 17, 2016 – Ottumwa, Iowa –  Due to windy conditions, the work to apply weather sealant to the Market Street Bridge has been postponed until Wednesday, October 19.   The City’s Public Works Department applies a sealant to bridge roadways to protect the surface from corrosive  materials used to control ice in winter.

Work on the Market Street Bridge is tentatively rescheduled for Wednesday.  The bridge will be closed to traffic with work complete and the bridge re-opened by the end of the day.  Motorists and walkers should plan ahead to find an alternate route during the closure.
