KNOXVILLE, IA — At approximately 8:42 am yesterday the Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an abandoned vehicle out in a bean field on a property southeast of Beech, Iowa in rural Marion County.

Sheriff Jason Sandholdt and a deputy arrived on scene and located the body of an adult male identified as 76 year old Alan Conley of Des Moines.

Conley had been reported to have known medical conditions and was entered as missing by the Des Moines Police Department on Monday, February 6th. The investigation is still ongoing, but no foul play is suspected at this time.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Marion County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Des Moines Police Department.
