  • Today in 1962, Linda Davis was born in Dodson, Texas. Her 1993 pairing with Reba McEntire on “Does He Love You” earned a Grammy. Davis’ daughter, Hilary Scott, co-founded Lady Antebellum.
  • Today in 1976, Joe Nichols was born in Rogers, Arkansas. Starting in 2002, he became one of the first new hit makers of the century.
  • Today in 1998, Jo Dee Messina sang, “I’m Alright” from a covered wagon and Martina McBride sang “Happy Girl” from a turkey float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.
  • Today in 2002, the “Tim McGraw & The Dancehall Doctors” album arrived in stores while Simon & Schuster published a companion book about the album’s creation.

Post Malone’s Bar Hooks Up First Responders With Free Thansgiving Dinner

Post Malone is make sure that first responders working the holiday don’t miss a good Thanksgiving dinner. His Nashville bar, Posty’s, posted on its social media accounts, “To the ladies and gentlemen who keep Nashville safe each day, we’d love to thank you for your service! On-duty, uniformed first responders are invited to please join us Wednesday, November 26, through Friday, November 28, to enjoy a complimentary meal at Posty’s!” If they’re there Thanksgiving Day, they’ll be able to see the bar’s owner performing at the halftime show of the Dallas Cowboys game that afternoon on one of the bar’s big screens.

  • Today in 1968, Glen Campbell began work on his classic song, “Galveston,” at Capitol Studios in Hollywood. The song was completed on January 9th, 1969.
  • Today in 1997, one day after its release, Garth Brooks’ “Sevens” album broke a record by placing 12 of its 14 songs in “Billboard” magazine’s Hot Country Singles and Tracks Chart. The previous record holder? Garth’s “Fresh Horses” project, with 8 tracks.
  • Today in 1997, Trisha Yearwood made her first appearance on CBS-TV’s “JAG” in the recurring role of forensics specialist, Teresa Coulter.
  • Today in 1999, Clint and Lisa Hartman Black’s duet, “When I Said I Do,” was at #1 on “Radio & Records’” Country Top 50 chart.
  • Today in 1999, Baptist LeAnn Rimes performs for Catholic Pope John Paul II.
  • Today in 2001, Garth Brooks topped “Billboard’s” Top Country Album chart as well as the Top 200 Album Chart with his album, “Scarecrow,” which was released the previous Tuesday. This marked the ninth time that Garth topped the country album chart and seventh time that he debuted at the #1 position on the pop chart — more times than any other artist. His other #1 debut albums (on the pop charts) include: “Ropin’ The Wind,” “The Chase,” “In Pieces,” “Double Live,” “The Limited Series Box Set” and “Sevens.” Over his impressive career, Garth has spent 51 weeks in the #1 position on the sales chart.   • Today in 2001, Trace Adkins was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence, speeding and carrying an open container of an alcoholic beverage following a July 5th He plead guilty to the DUI charge and was sentenced to two days in jail and a year’s probation. He also lost his license for a year.
  • Today in 2002, Tim McGraw’s “Tim McGraw & the Dancehall Doctors” CD arrived in stores. A book chronicling the making of the album was also released.

Randy Travis Releases Previously Unheard Holiday Tune

We just got new music from Randy Travis, and it’s 100-percent legend, no AI required. Recorded 12 years ago (before the legend’s debilitating stroke), the song has been stowed away in the vaults all this time. In a post late last week, the singer wrote “As Christmas draws near, I thought that now would be the perfect time to give my fans an early Christmas present. I’m thrilled to share an unreleased recording from the vault this holiday season! ‘Where My Heart Is’ reminds me of the family, friends, and fans I’m grateful for every day, especially during the holidays.” As we get ready for Thanksgiving next week, we’re thankful for “new” Randy Travis music!

Lainey Wilson Latest Addition To List Of Performers For Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Lainey Wilson isn’t taking a moment to rest after her huge night at the CMA Awards this week. It was announced yesterday that she has been added to the list of performers for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She won’t be on a float, however; she’ll sing in front of the iconic Herald Square storefront in Manhattan, past which the parade route goes every year. The lineup of performers also includes Cynthia Erivo, “Kpop Demon Hunters” singers EJAEAudrey Nuna and REI AMIColbie CaillatCiara, Foreigner, Debbie Gibson, Mickey Guyton, Jewel, Lil Jon, Kool & the Gang, Taylor Momsen, Busta Rhymes, Calum Scott, Teyana Taylor and more. The 2025 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air at 8:30am ET Thursday morning on NBC and Peacock.
