More performers have been announced for next week’s ACM Honors. New to the event are Chris Janson, Jamey Johnson, Miko Marks and Victoria Shaw. They join previously announced artists Luke Bryan, Russell Dickerson, Karen Fairchild, Carter Faith, Ashley Gorley, Amy Grant, Ashley McBryde, K. Michelle, Carly Pearce and Tucker Wetmore. The 18th ACM Honors will be hosted by Carly Pearce and Russell Dickerson, and will take place on Wednesday, August 20th, at The Pinnacle in Nashville.

Jelly Roll Teaming With Grand Ole Opry For Two Charity Shows
Jelly Roll is teaming up with the Grand Ole Opry for two benefit shows for charities near and dear to his heart. The singer will be playing two shows on September 22 at the Opry to raise money to benefit the Judge Dinkins Educational Center and the Buddy DeFord Charitable Fund. The Buddy DeFord Charitable Fund was started by Jelly to honor his late father and to support nonprofits serving the community. The Judge Dinkins Educational Center was created by the prosecutor who charged Jelly for crimes when he was a kid, Judge Jim Todd. Ever since, they’ve worked side-by-side to provide resources that enable youth to change their lives for the better. Appearing with Jelly Roll will be Bailey Zimmerman and Graham Barham. Tickets are already on sale on the Grand Ole Opry website.

Kane Brown Returning To Acting For Appearance On ”911: Nashville”
Kane Brown will be showing up on the small screen again this fall. The singer (and budding actor) will make an appearance in the series premiere of “911: Nashville.” According to ABC, Kane “proves heroic in a major storyline” in the first episode of the new “9-1-1” spinoff; Brown filmed a scene for the episode, which is set during a concert performance, last night in Nashville. Brown made his acting debut on CBS’s “Fire Country” in 2023. He also has a role in the upcoming rom-com “The Token Groomsman.” “911: Nashville” debuts Thursday, October 9 at 9PM on ABC and will stream the next day on Hulu.

- Today in 1954, Johnny Cash married Vivian Liberto in San Antonio, Texas. The couple, who share their daughter, Rosanne, moved to Memphis, where he formed a trio that was signed to Sun Records. The couple divorced in 1967 amid Johnny’s trouble with drug addiction. With the help of June Carter, Johnny beat his addiction and eventually married June in 1968.
