CMT Music Awards Get A New Date & Location

When the GRAMMY Awards moved to April 3rd, the CMT Music Awards had to be rescheduled, and now we know when and where they are going to happen.

The 2022 CMT Music Awards will now go down April 11th airing on CBS live from Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium and various locations around Music City.

As of now performers for the show have yet to be announced, although execs promise a show “jam-packed with the most star-power, world premiere performances and one-of-a-kind collaborations from in and around Music City.”

  • Today in 1993, Willie Nelson and the IRS settled their long-standing tax feud. The U.S. government kept $3.6-million in assets it had already seized, and Willie had to pay $5.4-million of the $13.1 million balance.
  • Today in 1996, Shania Twain hit #1 with “(If You’re Not In It For Love) I’m Outta Here.”

  • Today in 2021, Dolly Parton revealed on NBC’s “Today” that she twice turned down Donald Trump’s offer to present her the Presidential Medal of Freedom–her husband was sick the first year, and she declined to travel during the pandemic the second year.
  • Today in 2021, the infamous video of Morgan Wallen using a racial slur outside of his Nashville home surfaced on TMZ. Over the next 24 hours, the country music business delivered various forms of punishment – essentially imploding his career. Among other things, he was suspended from his record label and his music was dropped from several major radio networks. He largely kept quiet – outside of the initial apology – until the following July. That’s when he publicly spoke of his comments on “GMA” and apologized again. Wallen’s songs returned to country radio in August 2021 with the release of his single “Sand in My Boots.”

Luke Bryan Announces ‘Raised Up Right Tour’

Luke Bryan is hitting the road this summer. The singer just announced dates for his 30-city “Raised Up Right Tour.”

“My favorite place to be is on stage performing to country music fans,” Luke shares. “So thankful every night when I walk out on that stage and know you are there to have a blast along beside me. It never gets old!”

The trek, with special guests Riley Green and Mitchell Tenpenny, as well as DJ Rock, kicks off June 9th in Charleston, West Virginia, wrapping October 28th in Jacksonville, Florida.

Jason Aldean’s Latest Single Has Him Reminiscing About High School

Jason Aldean chose “Trouble With A Heartbreak” as the latest single from his album “Macon,” and in a new clip he admits the song “takes me back” to high school.

“I had fun in high school,” he shares,  “We all knew each other, we were all friends. Half of us dated each other at some point,” adding. “It was like, we just kind of all grew up together.”

As for romances, he shares, “If you broke up, you just kind of knew that whoever it was, was gonna be dating one of your friends in a couple weeks. It kind of was what it was.”

Jason says he unfortunately missed out on his last high school reunion, but he’s hoping to get another chance to catch up with them. “…I didn’t get a chance to catch up with a lot of them (around the time of the reunion), but hopefully they’ll do another one soon and I can make it,” he says. “(It’d be) fun to see everybody, for sure.”

Man Arrested After Crashing Into Taylor Swift’s New York Building

Another crazed Taylor Swift fan has been arrested by cops in New York. In the latest incident, a man was arrested for crashing his car into her Manhattan apartment.

According to TMZ, the man got caught driving down Tay’s street the wrong way and then reversed hitting the building and a fire hydrant. He then tried to rip the building’s intercom out of the wall, and told cops he wouldn’t leave the area until he met the singer. There’s no word if she was there at the time.

Cops took the man into custody and brought him to a hospital. He is facing charges of DWI, since cops say he was drunk, as well as criminal mischief.
