BROTHERS OSBORNE SAY THEIR FOURTH ALBUM SEEMS LIKE A DEBUT

Brothers Osborne‘s fourth album was released last month, and the duo went on “CBS Mornings” to talk about how their lives changed in the last few years, making their fourth album feel like a debut album

“It feels like a fresh start in a lot of ways for us. I mean we’ve shared so much of ourselves publicly in the past few years,” TJ Osborne said. Over the last few years, TJ came out as gay, and John battled anxiety so severe he considered quitting music. The brothers also had gotten to a point where just being in the same room with each other was difficult.

They actually ended up going to couples therapy; “If we keep on with this, the band’s over,” John says. More importantly, the two sought to save their relationship as brothers. Fortunately, the therapy gave the siblings – and the duo – a reset and a new musical perspective that runs through their new album.

Dustin Lynch on Still Being Single at 38

Dustin Lynch says his new album, “Killed the Cowboy”, is a “timestamp” on this chapter of his life.  And this chapter finds him still single at 38.  That should NOT be a big deal, but it is.

Quote, “There’s a pressure in country music of, ‘Why isn’t he married?  What’s wrong with him?  Why didn’t he have kids?’  A lot of artists I came up with have found their person and are having kids, and the fans are super invested in that.”

He says that pressure has been eased thanks to all the fans he’s been meeting who are in the same situation.  He’s learned that it’s okay to be single . . . and to be absolutely sure before deciding to spend the rest of your life with someone.

Quote, “That’s where I am right now.  It’s okay to NOT know what’s next and be a little bit scared about it.”  (Last long-term relationship we remember Dustin having was with Instagram model Kelli Seymour.  They broke up in 2021.)

MIRANDA LAMBERT RELEASES LIVE “CAROUSEL”

Miranda Lambert‘s 2022 album “Palomino” was highly acclaimed, making many end-of-year lists including the LA Times and Rolling Stone. Despite this, the album spawned only two singles and just one hit at country radio, the Top Ten “If I Was A Cowboy.” While the album may not have made a huge splash on the singles charts, the songs on it have been well-received in concert, with some becoming fan favorites. One such song is “Carousel.”

Miranda performed the song at the 58th Annual ACM Awards back in May, and of course the crowd went wild. Seeing how the tune has landed with fans may have encouraged Miranda’s most recent move, taking that live ACM performance and making it an official release, which she did Friday.

KACEY MUSGRAVES MEETS HER MADAME TUSSAUD’S WAX FIGURE

Kacey Musgraves was honored/taken aback by her likeness done in wax at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Nashville. Known for their stunningly life-like wax versions of celebrities, Kacey was introduced to her doppelganger and was very impressed.

“You guys nailed it!” she said in a video clip posted on X/Twitter. “They literally measured, like, every single millimeter – all the proportions, all the ratios…I wore this outfit at the Houston Rodeo…

The wax figurine took approximately six months to create by a team of 20 London-based artists, who worked very closely with Kacey and her glam team to encapsulate her exact measurements, hair color, eye color, skin tone and more.

“What an honor, I never even knew I wanted this to be a bucket list moment,” said Kacey in a press release. “You all did an amazing job.”Guests can visit Musgraves’ new figure beginning today, and in a completely interactive experience can sing along with some of her songs.

Darius Rucker Says Country Is Not Rock’s Little Sister Anymore

Remember last summer when country artists had the top three songs on the Billboard Hot 100?  Darius Rucker was asked about that in an interview with Billboard News.  In his opinion, that’s just the beginning.

Quote, “Country music is taking over.  To have [that] and all the touring everyone is doing, and doing well out there, it’s great to see.  Country is not rock’s little sister anymore.  Country’s standing up for itself and on its own.”

Darius fronted Hootie & the Blowfish, one of the most popular rock bands of the ’90s, so his opinion has weight.  Here’s another thing Darius knows.  The country music community will always have your back.

Quote, “Country music, especially the artists, are just so welcoming.  Rock and roll, and pop, a lot of times . . . they make it a competition.  It seems like, for me, in country music, everybody thinks there’s room for all of us, if you’re good.”

(Darius’ new album, “Carolyn’s Boy”, is out October 6th.)
