Oskaloosa’s 51st annual Art on the Square starts Friday night (6/7) downtown. Artists will begin selling their work at 5pm. There will also be live music from Small Town Superheroes and Rock Bottom Band. There’s also an Oskaloosa All Class Reunion. Emily Brown, Main Street Director at the Oskaloosa Chamber, says there’s also going to be a unique art project going on both Friday and Saturday (6/8).
“We have a couple of young artists, Jaylin and Natalie that are going to be coming down and creating for the audience. What it is is, we give them a prop…to create a ‘door to….’ and then it is wherever, whenever, whatever they would like. They take that broad concept and something entirely unique and creative.”
Art on the Square continues Saturday starting at 9am with more art on sale and live music starting at 11am. In case of rain, Art on the Square will move indoors to Penn Central Mall.
