ARREST MADE IN MARCH HOMICIDE

Arrest Made in March Homicide

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest on July 13 regarding the homicide of Jose Luis C. Ramirez Berber on March 6, 2017.  Ramirez Berber was discovered deceased inside his residence. This arrest is a result of a joint investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Charles City Police Department, Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.

Randy Louis Linderman, 52, from Charles City, Iowa has been charged with Murder in the First Degree. Linderman was taken into custody in Charles City. Linderman was transported and is being held in the Jasper County Jail in Newton, Iowa.

On March 8, 2017, the Office of the Iowa State Medical Examiner located in Ankeny, Iowa conducted an autopsy on Ramirez Berber. The autopsy results determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
