On the morning of April 7, 2016, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency 911 call to the Mahaska County 911 Emergency Communications Center. Authorities responded to 1242 Yale Avenue, Barnes City, Iowa, for a victim who had been struck by a motor vehicle. An autopsy has been scheduled for April 10, 2016, at the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny. No further information will be released pertaining to the investigation that is ongoing. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office will be continuing the investigation.
