LUKE COMBS GOES AFTER CAROLINA PANTHERS’ OWNERSHIP

Luke Combs – who maintains that he usually stays quiet on social media in regards to his opinions on sports – jumped on X to bemoan the way his beloved Carolina Panthers were doing business in the off-season. Specifically, trading superstar Brian Burns to the New York Giants for what Combs thought was very little in return. Well, Wednesday the usually quiet country singer opened up a little more on the subject – this time on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show.”

On the subject of the Panthers, Combs went straight for the guy he felt responsible for the whole mess: billionaire Panthers owner David Tepper. Luke stated that Tepper is obviously a shrewd businessman, but that doesn’t necessarily equate to be being a good football guy. “I’m a great musician, but I’m not a football coach…I’m great at doing music, but I’m not at the combine telling you who to draft.”

So will there be fallout? Fans think there’s a chance. Tales of Tepper’s vindictiveness are legend, so viewers thought that perhaps Luke has played his last concerts at Bank Of America Stadium in Charlotte, the home stadium for the Carolina Panthers. No word from Tepper or the Panthers yet, but if Combs doesn’t play the stadium when he tours through the Carolinas, we may have an idea why.
