CHRIS STAPLETON ON SOBRIETY: "IT'S A DISSERVICE TO SOBER PEOPLE TO CALL ME SOBER"

Chris Stapleton on Sobriety: “It’s a Disservice to Sober People to Call Me Sober”

Chris Stapleton just teamed up with Buffalo Trace to create his own signature whiskey called, “Traveller Whiskey”.  But some people are confused, because recently he said in a “GQ” article that he was “all but sober”.

Well, Chris would like to clarify a few things.  As he likes to tell people that, “he got in a drinking contest with himself in his 20s and lost.”  But now that he has kids a lot has changed, including his drinking habits.

He went on to say, “It’s a disservice to sober people to call me sober.  I’m a 45-year-old man who has a lot more responsibilities and a lot less time for leisure than I used to have.  But I do enjoy it.  The first room you walk in at my house, there’s probably 200 bottles of bourbon there.”

So, while he’s definitely not sober, he’s gotten older and wiser.  But it has got to be a test of will to see 200 bottles of booze as soon as you walk in your house.
