LEE GREENWOOD IS CALLING IT A CAREER

With a 40+ year career in country music, seven #1 hits and a song, “God Bless The USA,” that will forever be part of the American fabric, at 81, Lee Greenwood has earned the right to call it a day – and over the weekend the country legend confirmed that he was doing just that.

On the Brilyn Hollyhand Show on FoxNews, Greenwood responded to a question about the rumors that he was retiring. “It’s not a rumor,” he responded, saying that while the plans for how things wind down are not yet laid out, he’s definitely calling it a career. He cited his children reaching adulthood and his health, but added that he felt he owed what years he had left to his wife Kimberly. He also added that he was “so grateful for the years that they (the fans) have come to my shows, continually, and here I am at the end of my career and they still come, and they still hear me sing the same forty songs that I’ve sang for the last forty years…I’m grateful.”
