Shania Twain says there’s one subject she could not talk to Oprah Winfrey about. During an appearance on the “Table Manners with Jessie Ware and Lennie Ware” podcast, Shania says a dinner with Oprah took a turn when the subject of religion came up.

Shania says dining with Oprah was one of the “most memorable” dinners she had. “It was great to just sit and have real talks, but as soon as we started talking about religion, it all went sour,” she said, adding, “So, I said, ‘Let’s stop talking about religion.”

Shania says the problem was Oprah is “quite religions,” while Shania says she’s more “spiritual.”

“There was no room for debate, and I like to debate,” she said. “Canadians like to debate everything. So, I’m like, ‘Oh, OK. It’s time to change the subject.’”

I never really get angry with criticism. You can’t please everybody, that’s normal.”
