After a five-month delay due to the coronavirus, the 55th Annual ACM Awards took place last night, with the ACM bringing the show back to Nashville, with performances from three iconic Music City venues – The Grand Ole Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium and the Bluebird Café.
As if this year’s ACM Awards wasn’t unique enough, for the first time in ACM Award history the coveted award for Entertainer of the Year went to not one but two artists. Both Carrie Underwood and Thomas Rhett were named the winners.
It was also a big night for Luke Combs, who took home two trophies, Album of the Year for “What You See Is What You Get” and Male Artist of the Year, while Old Dominion also nabbed two honors, Group of the Year and Song of the Year for “One Man Band.” The night’s other winners included: Dan + Shay, for Best Duo, Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country” for Single of the Year and Maren Morris for Female Artist of the Year.
