TAYLOR SWIFT INDUCTED INTO NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME

Taylor Swift Inducted Into Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame

Taylor Swift became the youngest-ever inductee into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame during an industry gala last night. Brad Paisley introduced Swift, praising her songwriting and remarkable career, sharing “This is somebody who has conquered the world and done it with songs…It’s an amazing thing to watch her evolution from somebody who realized this all starts with a song, to take that exact thing and change the world with it.” Lainey Wilson also performed an acoustic version of “Love Story.”
In her acceptance speech, Swift called Nashville “the place that I went to in my middle school daydream,” adding “There is no music community like this music community. I know. I checked all the communities.” She went on to share her gratitude, saying, “I’m so incredibly honored to be inducted into this sacred club, especially at this point in my life. It’s not lost on me how crazy this is.”
Taylor also joked about being “estranged” from Paisley for a while because of a tour prank gone wrong. Back in the day, he released a swarm of crickets into her tour bus and they kept her awake at night for months to the point that she thought about getting a lizard.
The ceremony also recognized George Strait with the Career Maker Award and five other Hall of Fame inductees (Lyle Lovett, Lee Thomas Miller, Shawn Camp, Bruce Channel, and J.I. Allison, who was inducted posthumously).
