Ella Langley pushed back at critics during her September 25th show in Columbus, Ohio, saying people have picked apart her looks, clothes, voice, and songwriting. The 27-year-old admitted those comments hurt at first and made her wonder whether she could handle fame, but she said she’s proud of the woman who chased her dream, traveled in a van, and lived on bar food and tip money. Her speech came after “Choosin’ Texas” topped Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for the longest No. 1 run on the Billboard Hot 100.
