• The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $7.62 per barrel, and is currently priced at $83.23.
• Brent crude oil rose by $9.36 and is currently priced at $88.88.
• One year ago, WTI crude sold for $64.22 and Brent crude was $66.80.

Motor Fuels

• As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.79 across Iowa according to AAA.
  • Prices remained unchanged from last week’s price and are up 91 cents from a year ago.
  • The national average on Wednesday was $4.04, down 4 cents from last week’s price.
• Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 6 cents this week with a statewide average of $5.05.
  • One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.55 in Iowa.
  • The current Iowa diesel price is 31 cents lower than the national average of $5.36.
• The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.97 for U87-E10, $3.48 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $4.21 for ULSD#2, $4.44 for ULSD#1, and $2.44 per gallon for E-70 prices.

Heating Fuels

• Natural gas prices were up 11 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.80 MMbtu.
• We will continue reporting retail heating oil and propane prices in Iowa in October.
