MARION COUNTY – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in rural Marion County on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, at approximately 2:10 PM on Sunday, July 19, 19-year-old Zane Pray of New Virginia was traveling eastbound on Highway G76 in a 2012 Subaru Legacy, approaching the intersection with Highway 14 in rural Marion County. An unnamed driver in a Ford Econoline van was traveling northbound on Highway 14. The Legacy allegedly failed to yield to the Econoline and the two vehicles collided within the intersection.
The Legacy came to rest on Highway 14 in the southbound lanes; the Econoline overturned and came to rest in the northbound ditch of Highway 14.
Pray was transported to Knoxville Hospital and Clinics for treatment of injuries. The driver of the Econoline was transported to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. The conditions of both drivers are unknown at this time and the accident is under further investigation.
