SHELLSBURG, Iowa (AP) — The death of a woman whose body was found near a stolen truck in eastern Iowa has been ruled a homicide.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said Wednesday that an autopsy on Sabrina Hustad shows her death was caused by multiple stab wounds and strangulation.
Hustad was found Sunday near a stolen truck in Benton County. Two men examining the truck noticed blood on a door handle and saw a blood trail. They followed the blood and found Hustad.
Hustad’s body was found near the residence of a man who is being housed at the county jail on charges of probation violation and second-degree theft. Authorities have not said whether the man is connected to the death.
The case remains under investigation. Additional information has not been released.

No. 3 Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets faced off against Pella Christian Eagles last night in Playoff Tournament Volleyball for Class 2A.
EBF took all three games against P.C., as EBF looked to gain steam as the matches wore on.
The Sigourney Savages went up against No. 10 New London Tigers for the second round of the Class 1A regional tournament last night as well.
Sigourney did not have their desired outcome, however, as they fell to the Tigers 3 to 0.
Twin Cedars also was in action last night, as the Sabers took on Southeast Warren War Hawks.
Twin Cedars did not advance to the next round, losing to the War Hawks.
EBF did advance to the next round after their win against the Eagles. The Rockets will face the Pekin Panthers.

Seventeen-year-old Austin Cindric will make his NASCAR debut in Saturday’s Kroger 200 Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway, driving the Number-29 Ford for Brad Keselowski Racing while Austin Theriault (TERRY-oh), continues to recover from a back injury suffered earlier this month in a crash at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. On October 3rd, Theriault was transported to a Las Vegas hospital where he was diagnosed with a ten percent compression fracture of the lower back.
The team expects him to receive medical clearance to return to competition next week, which would put him back behind the wheel November 6th at Texas Motor Speedway. Cindric has made twenty-eight starts across seven different series this season including two races in the ARCA Series, one of which resulted in a fourth-place finish at Iowa Speedway. He led fifty-six laps in the two races combined, which also included a stop at Kentucky Speedway.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — An Iowa lawmaker has announced a hearing to investigate allegations of inappropriate content at a conference earlier this year on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth.
Representative Bobby Kaufmann said Tuesday that members of the House Government Oversight Committee will hold a hearing onNovember 18th.
Kaufmann, a Wilton Republican who is committee chairman, says he received complaints from parents and school administrators about some content presented at the April conference. He says some students exposed to the material were in junior high school.
The conference was hosted by Iowa Safe Schools. Nate Monson, executive director for the advocacy group, says the hearing is an attack on LGBTQ youth. House Democratic Minority Leader Mark Smith expressed a similar response in a press release.
Kaufmann says the hearing is not political.

Carrie Underwood is ready to hit the road – baby and all. Her upcoming 2016 tour will be her first full tour with baby Isaiah in tow, and she’s actually had a custom bus build to make life on the road with him safer and easier. Underwood tells Taste of Country, “In the back there’s my bed, and then on the other wall is a crib that you can take the side panel down. It’s just built in so he’s secure in his bed and he can have his own space and everything.”
