Wood Iron Grille Closing April 12; Elmhurst Grille Opening April 17

OSKALOOSA — Oskaloosa’s Wood Iron Grille is transitioning to new ownership, and that transition is officially taking place in the coming days.

The Wood Iron Grille’s final day of business is Friday, April 12. The new Elmhurst Grille will open on Wednesday, April 17, and will continue the tradition of high-quality service and menu items. While owners Michael Glesener and Matthew Gunn are transitioning out of the business, the rest of the team is continuing on with the Elmhurst Grille.

“We’re super thankful for our employees and our customers and are grateful for the huge outpouring of support over the past several weeks,” said Michael Glesener. “It’s been a real joy and honor to be a part of serving this community.”

EVOLVE Hospitality President Matt Jacobs said, “We’re looking forward to continuing to offer fare that customers know and love, with minor revisions to add a new spin to the menu. As we get started, we’ll first focus on great food and great service. In the coming months, we’ll work through interior updates and the dining experience. We’re known for the hospitality we deliver – and we can’t wait to add some personal touches to the new Elmhurst Grille.”

Glesener, Gunn, and Jacobs explained the short transition timeline. On Wednesday, April 10, the State of Iowa approved a liquor license for the new Elmhurst Grille. With that approval, the Wood Iron Grille liquor license expires on Sunday, April 14, and the Elmhurst Grille license is in effect beginning on Monday, April 15. The few days the restaurant is closed will allow for a full change over in ownership and training.

As shared previously, gift certificates will continue to be honored at the Elmhurst Grille.

With more than 45 years in the hospitality industry, EVOLVE Hospitality leadership encompasses all the traditional functions of that industry to offer property development, third party management and general consulting on projects ranging from hotels and restaurants to convenience stores and senior living facilities. They currently manage the Oskaloosa Fairfield Inn & Suites and will operate the new Trio Entertainment Venue when it opens later this year. Learn more about the company at www.evolvehosp.com.
