Marion County Board of Supervisors Discusses Timberview Urban Renewal Plan, Junction 92 Project Funding

By Sam Parsons

The Marion County Board of Supervisors met this morning and heard a presentation from Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini about the Timberview Urban Renewal Plan, in which the city, in cooperation with Marion County and the Pella Community School District, would extend its TIF agreement by 5 years. The proposed Timberview Development would be located in the northeastern area of the city and the agreement would allow the developer to be reimbursed for public infrastructure costs of $2.4 million.

The board also heard an update from Marion County Public Health, and approved the allocation of funds from the American Rescue Plan, Local Option Sales and Service Tax revenue, and the General Fund for their Junction 92 project, which was approved to move forward at the last meeting. The funding allocations were all approved unanimously. The Marion County Board of Supervisors will hold its next regular meeting on October 25.
