Coronavirus update 4-17-2020

Here are the latest figures on coronavirus.  According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, four more people have died from coronavirus, bringing the state’s total from the pandemic, as of Friday (4/17), to 64.

Also, 191 new cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed, for a total of 2332.  Five of those new cases are in Jasper County: one adult aged 18 to 40, two middle aged adults aged 41 to 60 and two older adults aged 61 to 80.  Jasper County now has 28 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

Governor Kim Reynolds adds that an additional 926 Iowans have tested negative for coronavirus, for a total of 19,460.  1007 people in Iowa have recovered from the virus.  And 183 people in the state are hospitalized, with 19 new admissions in the last 24 hours.
