OSKALOOSA SCHOOL LUNCH PRICES CHANGE FOR UPCOMING YEAR

Oskaloosa School Lunch Prices Change for Upcoming Year

The Oskaloosa School Board met for a special meeting on Monday afternoon to discuss a couple of developments.

The major item was a change in hot lunch prices. According to state regulations, the school board had set the hot lunch prices too low, and needed to increase them by ten cents.

This occurred due to the number of students receiving free or reduced lunch prices and the history of Oskaloosa having low prices. The new hot lunch prices for the upcoming school year will be $2.30 for the elementary school and $2.40 for the middle and high schools. The district’s breakfast prices are not affected.

In other action, the board unanimously approved Ramona Braden as a new nurse in the district. She will be available for 168 days this year and will be working at the elementary school. Her appointment increases the number of nurses in the district to six.

Also, the board unanimously approved a two-year agreement with the district support staff.

The next scheduled meeting of the Oskaloosa School Board is August 10th at 7:00 pm in the meeting room at George Daily Auditorium.
