MARION COUNTY – A Knoxville man died in a single-vehicle accident on Highway T-17 in Marion County on Saturday night.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred shortly before midnight on Saturday, October 24, south of Pella. 29-year-old Alex Eugene Killoren was traveling westbound in a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado when his vehicle failed to negotiate the curve in the road. The Silverado entered the ditch and vaulted over a drainage ditch on the west side, pitching over and flipping at least once. 

The crash report states that Killoren was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, and he was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Pella Regional Health Center via ambulance, but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The accident remains under investigation.
