FAIRFIELD – An Ames man was arrested on Friday after authorities say he intentionally crashed into a building near Fairfield.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at around 5:00 AM on Friday, October 2. The Jefferson County Communications Center received a 911 call around that time reporting that a vehicle had been driven into a building in the 1900 block of Pleasant Plain Road.
Deputies arrived on scene and discovered that a blue Dodge Neon had been driven through the doors of the former Cider House building. The driver, who was identified as 19-year-old Tristan Mosley of Ames, allegedly admitted to intentionally crashing into the building.
Court documents state that during a search of Mosley’s person prior to his arrest, law enforcement found a baggie containing a white powdery substance in his pocket, which tested positive for cocaine; and a search of his bag yielded a green leafy substance with packaging material, which was later found to be marijuana.
Mosley was arrested following this incident and charged with 1st Degree Criminal Mischief (Class C felony), Conspiracy to Deliver Marijuana (Class D felony), and Possession of Cocaine (serious misdemeanor).
Mosley was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, where he is currently being held on a $10,000 bond.
