• The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $9.37 per barrel, and is currently priced at $75.61.
• Brent crude oil fell by $11.01 and is currently priced at $79.52.
• One year ago, WTI crude sold for $66.20 and Brent crude was $69.14.

Motor Fuels

• As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.79 across Iowa according to AAA.
  • Prices rose 4 cents from last week’s price and are up 82 cents from a year ago.
  • The national average on Wednesday was $4.08, down 1 cents from last week’s price.
• Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose 14 cents this week with a statewide average of $5.11.
  • One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.58 in Iowa.
  • The current Iowa diesel price is 25 cents lower than the national average of $5.36.
• The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.75 for U87-E10, $3.27 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $3.84 for ULSD#2, $4.08 for ULSD#1, and $2.32 per gallon for E-70 prices.

Heating Fuels

• Natural gas prices were down 4 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.69 MMbtu.
• We will continue reporting retail heating oil and propane prices in Iowa in October.
