• The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $8.06 per barrel, and is currently priced at $86.76.
• Brent crude oil rose by $9.87 and is currently priced at $93.87.
• One year ago, WTI crude sold for $67.56 and Brent crude was $69.69.

Motor Fuels

• As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.80 across Iowa according to AAA.
  • Prices rose 12 cents from last week’s price and are up 89 cents from a year ago.
  • The national average on Wednesday was $4.06, up 17 cents from last week’s price.
• Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose 32 cents this week with a statewide average of $4.85.
  • One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.57 in Iowa.
  • The current Iowa diesel price is 33 cents lower than the national average of $5.18.
• The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.99 for U87-E10, $3.53 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $3.89 for ULSD#2, $4.11 for ULSD#1, and $2.41 per gallon for E-70 prices.

Heating Fuels

• Natural gas prices remained unchanged at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.91 MMbtu.
• We will continue reporting retail heating oil and propane prices in Iowa in October.
