The Southern Iowa Fair officially begins next week. The fair is set to run from Monday, July 13 through Saturday, July 18, and it’ll feature plenty of mainstays from past years, including the Kids Zone, Tractor and Engine Display, the Amazing Bubble Factory, and bingo all being offered every day during the fair; additionally, the Queen Contest is scheduled for Monday night, comedy ventriloquist Kevin Horner will perform Tuesday night, the annual Caleb Hammond Memorial Race at the Southern Iowa Speedway is set for Wednesday night, and Sprint Invaders with Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks will perform on Thursday night. 

4-H and FFA shows are also scheduled for Monday through Friday, and other festivities include the Joke Telling Contest, Jack Pot Barrel Races, an Arm Wrestling Competition, a Family Look-Alike Contest, the Ohana Kids Pedal Tractor Pull, and a pancake breakfast with the Mahaska Chamber.
