ALBIA – An Albia man faces charges of invasion of privacy after allegedly placing a hidden camera in a tanning booth and watching the footage.
According to court records, Kevin Zaputil placed a hidden camera in a wall of the Just Teasin Hair Salon in Albia in 2023 and operated it until this year. Zaputil was the primary contractor for the salon and had access with a master key. Court documents also state that Zaputil told police that he would watch video footage of people using a tanning bed in the salon that was recorded using the hidden camera.
Zaputil is charged with 3 counts of Invasion of Privacy (aggravated misdemeanors).
