Mahaska County Community Foundation Donates $25k to Friends of Mahaska County Conservation

OSKALOOSA — Mahaska County Community Foundation recently awarded a Community Betterment Grant  totaling $25,000. This grant will help fund the Mahaska County Conservation All-Inclusive  Nature Playscape and Community Area. Mahaska County Community Foundation is a non profit, community corporation created by and for the people of Mahaska County to help our  donors make a positive impact.

The $25,000 Community Betterment Grant will allow for the Friends and Mahaska County  Conservation Board to build this Nature Playscape that will provide local and surrounding  communities with an outdoor imaginative experience that has natural climbing features, a  mammoth play sculpture, a log traverse, staggered trails and various other outdoor adventures.  Groundbreaking is planned for April 2025.

Mahaska County Community Foundation was established in 2005 to serve the needs and  philanthropic aims of donors who wish to support the betterment of and address the challenges of  greater Mahaska County communities, charities and organizations today and in the future.  MCCF funds are grants made possible by the Iowa County Endowment Fund Legislation for the  benefit of Mahaska County.
