Auditions for ‘Home Again’ at George Daily Auditorium

Auditions for “Home Again” will be held at the George Daily Auditorium on May 6-7 from 5:00-8:00 PM. This is an original Mahaska musical written by the George Daily Auditorium. They are looking for performers, storytellers, singers, dancers, volunteers, and Mahaska County enthusiasts to be part of this one-of-a-kind production. New- and long-time residents from all over Mahaska County are invited to audition. No experience necessary. Ages 8 and up of all ability levels are invited. If auditioning for a singing role, you may bring a prepared song or sing a familiar one like “Happy Birthday”. Those auditioning for non-singing roles need not sing. OCSD Board Meeting

The Oskaloosa Community School District Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, March 27, at 6:00 PM in the George Daily Auditorium Board Room. Items on the agenda include: Presentation on Food Service Program and Potential Improvements; Consider Adoption of Nutrition Director Sharing Agreement; Consider Approval of Hot Lunch and Breakfast Prices; Presentation on 2018-2019 Personnel and Budget Adjustments; and Personnel. This meeting is open to the public.

OCSD Board Meeting

The Oskaloosa Community School District Board of Directors (Osky School Board) will meet in a regular session on Tuesday, March 13 at 6:00 PM. The meeting will last until all agenda items have been addressed and it will take place in the George Daily Auditorium Board Room next to the Oskaloosa Community Schools buildings. Oskaloosa Community School District Board Meeting

The Oskaloosa Community School District will have a meeting of the Board of Directors on March 8 at 7:30 PM in the George Daily Auditorium Board Room. The main topic at hand will be to consider approval of profile and documents for the search of a Superintendent.

Joseph Hall’s Elvis: Rock ‘n’ Remember

Elvis is in the building at the George Daily Auditorium on Saturday, March 10 at 7:30 PM! Joseph Hall has the look, the voice, the charm, and the moves to take us back to a time when fans fell in love with the high spirited Elvis Presley. His show will take you through a journey of Elvis hits from rock ‘n’ roll, country, pop, rhythm and blues, and gospel. Joseph Hall has been officially recognized as one of the top tribute artists in the world and was a finalist on America’s Got Talent. Sponsored by C.L. Barnhouse.

Mahaska County Historical Society Quarterly Meeting

The George Daily Auditorium has partnered with the Mahaska County Historical Society for their Quarterly Meeting and Potluck Dinner on Monday, February 19, 2018. Participants do not need to be a Historical Society member to join in during this free event at the auditorium.

At 7:00 PM, Cindy Godlove of the Oskaloosa Public Library will moderate “The Family Detective: Genealogy Stories” with four expert panelists: Janet Braden with 30+ years of genealogy experience and a Boone family connection; Georgetta Leak, a professional Genealogist; Herbert Strasser, who researches the history of families who have owned and lived on his farmland; and Grant Wells, a Mayflower Society member. After the panel, there will be breakout groups so people can talk about their own family stories. Sarah Kargol of the Oskaloosa Art Center will have a craft project for kids.

OHS Choir Concert

The Oskaloosa High School Choirs would like to invite you to a choral concert on Tuesday, Feb. 20. This concert will feature our Oskaloosa High School Concert Choir, Chamber Chorus and Middle School Choir. This event will be held at the George Daily Auditorium at 7:30 PM. There is no cost for the concert, however there will be an opportunity to give a free will donation to our organization. Our students have worked very hard to put together the highest quality choral music for our community. Please come out and enjoy an evening of choral music with us!
