Central RED Society to Present “Smash Park Pella: Behind the Scenes”

PELLA — Central College’s Central RED Society will present “Smash Park Pella: Behind the Scenes” with Luke Ballenger, a 2006 Central graduate, on Thursday, Oct. 13, in the Boat Moore Weller Rooms, Maytag Student Center on Central’s campus.

Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation beginning at 6 p.m. Cost is $15, and a cash bar will be available.

The city of Pella welcomed a new entertainment business with activities for community members and visitors. Smash Park provides games like pickleball, bags, ping-pong and arcade games. It also offers an eclectic menu for the whole family.

Ballenger will take the audience through the process of bringing a business, like Smash Park, to Pella. He will also share unique elements of Smash Park and how its establishment in Pella supports the community. Ballenger is a Pella native and a 2003 graduate of Pella Community High School. He attended Central College, University of Northern Iowa and Logan University to obtain his Doctor of Chiropractic degree, master’s in Sports Science degree and Acupunctural Sciences degree. He is the owner of a multi-disciplinary natural healthcare clinic in West Des Moines. He is also active in residential and commercial real estate throughout Central Iowa. Ballenger lives in Urbandale, Iowa.
