YOUNG AMBASSADORS WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Young Ambassadors Winners Announced

Main Street Young Ambassador Contest winners were announced in a gala event at the Penn Central Mall Monday evening.

All participants’ ages three through kindergarten of the Young Ambassadors Contest were introduced by Master of Ceremonies, Melanie Mackey. Music was provided by Spinners DJ Service. The Oskaloosa High School Storybook Players provided entertainment for the children. Santa made a special appearance.

Local merchants sponsored the children’s canisters. Money placed in the canister was considered votes. This year’s 2015 Young Ambassador Princess is Whitney Steinlage daughter of Wade and Jodi Steinlage and the Prince is Baylen Brink son of Adam and Holly Brink.

This year, proceeds will go to Mahaska County YMCA and The Main Street Lighted Christmas Parade. Those participating in addition to our winners were Brennan Smith, Brycen Irving, Damian Sunkle, Kinnick Reisetter, Lincoln Nilson, Reece Meyer, Slater Lamb, Parker Russell, Aria Lyman, Bailey VanZomeren, Baylie Patterson, Banx Blackwell, Braylie Teeter, Gracie Graham, Jorja Tacke, Kailynn Playle, Nevaeh Davis, Samira Warburton and Sienna Stout.

Gifts provided for all children were donated from local merchants which included Mahaska Drug, Dr. Tom Bowie, Hy-Vee, Swims Sports and Engraving, KBOE and William Penn University.

All participants are invited to help spread the magic of Christmas by riding on the Clow Train in the Lighted Christmas Parade “An Old Fashioned Oskaloosa Christmas”, Thursday, December 3, 2015.
