LONG-TERM CARE CENTERS OFF CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK LIST

Long-term care centers off coronavirus outbreak list

Two long-term care facilities in the area have been taken off the state’s list for coronavirus outbreaks.  Park Centre in Newton and St. Francis Manor in Grinnell no longer have outbreaks.  Governor Kim Reynolds said Wednesday (6/10) they’re not the only facilities that are off the outbreak list.

“Eleven long-term care facilities where outbreaks occurred have now been removed from the outbreak status—after having had no new cases for 28 consecutive days.”

A representative for St. Francis Manor tells the No Coast Network her facility was taken off the list as of this morning.  We have reached out to Park Centre for more information.

Checking the coronavirus numbers as of late Wednesday morning, another seven Iowans have died from COVID-19 for a pandemic total of 629.  And another 339 people have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the state’s total to 22,516.  Eight new cases were reported in Wapello County, two in Monroe County and one each in Mahaska and Jasper Counties.
