The State High School Wrestling meet gets under way Thursday (2/20) at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.  Oskaloosa’s Leland Evans is looking forward to competing in the Class 3A 138 pound division.  He talks about having to earn his place at State through the wrestlebacks.

“After my finals match, I came off and I was upset that I had a wrestleback.  Because at that point, you’re there but you’re not.  So that last match, I came in full of adrenaline, seeing my goal was in front of me and I was just ready to go and won my match.”

Evans takes a 30-9 record into his first match Thursday morning.
