It was a long night for the Oskaloosa boys’ basketball team. The Indians went to Burlington Monday (2/17) and came home with a 100-66 loss. The Indians and Greyhounds kept pace in the first quarter, with Burlington leading by two after the first frame. But in the second quarter, Burlington stormed to a 22 point halftime lead and that was pretty much that. Junior guard Michael Alexander was, for lack of a better word, great, with 28 points to lead Burlington. Senior forward Noah Van Veldhuizen had 23 for Oskaloosa, including six three point baskets. The Indians are now 7-13 on the year. They’ll finish the regular season Tuesday night (2/18) at Grinnell; that’s scheduled to tip off around 7:30.
