Some Oskaloosa businesses have a fireman’s boot in their stores and they’d like you to put some money inside those boots.  Adam Haroldson with the Oskaloosa Fire Department tells us why.

“We’re raising money for thermal imaging cameras.  They’re a piece of equipment that we use on every fire.  Right now, our current ones are being phased out because they’re starting to be unreliable.”

Haroldson says the thermal imaging cameras allow firefighters to see what’s going on inside a building where a fire has broken out.  You can make a donation at these Oskaloosa businesses: Mahaska Drug, Julie’s Homestyle Café, the Brickhouse Café and Oskaloosa True Value Hardware.  The boots will be out through the end of February.
