On this day in 1974, Ray Stevens’ novelty song “The Streak” captured the #1 spot on the chart. “The Streak” was Stevens’ second #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart, and would be Certified Gold by the RIAA in the United States, and sold over five million copies internationally.
