WIND CHILLS TO PUSH NEAR -50 DEGREES THIS WEEK

Wind chills to push near -50 degrees this week

Several winter weather warnings and advisories remain in place for much of eastern Iowa. Light snow showers are possible Monday morning with little accumulation.  Temperatures are going to fall as a strong northwest wind of 15 to 30 mph, sometimes gusting higher, takes over. Dangerously cold air is set to impact the area later in the week.

TIMING:
Low temperatures fall to below zero Monday night, with wind chills reaching to -30 degrees. Tuesday will be cold and windy with highs staying a bit below zero with wind chills near -30 degrees at times.  Dangerously cold air begins tomorrow night with lows in the -20s and wind chills pushing to near -50.

For Wednesday, temperatures will stay near -10 even though the sun will be out. Wind chills remain between -50 to -35 range. Bitterly cold temperatures approach -30 Wednesday night.

EXTENDED FORECAST:
Another chance of snow comes in on Thursday with moderate temperatures to follow.
