Imagine getting a phone call from the Iowa State Police telling you they’ve seized a vehicle with drugs inside and that vehicle is registered to you.  Apparently, that’s been happening recently—and it’s a scam. The Iowa Department of Public Safety (and that’s the official name, not “Iowa State Police”) says they’ve had several reports of those calls coming from the 712 area code.  If you get a call like that, call your local police.  The Department of Public Safety also reminds you to not give out personal information or financial information to anyone who calls.
